The necklace Ryan Gosling's been wearing in Blade Runner 2049 interviews is his dead dog's tag
R.I.P. George
Right from his early days in Remember the Titans and The Notebook, Ryan Gosling's dog George was there every step of the way in the actor's career, mooching about on sets around the world.
He even joined Gosling on stage during a Jimmy Fallon interview in 2011 (below), but sadly passed away this year at the grand age of 17.
The actor wore a shirt with George's face on while presenting SNL recently and, asked about it on The Ellen Show last night, revealed that the tag he's been wearing at Comic-Con, on The Graham Norton Show, at Blade Runner 2049 press tours and more belong to his dog.
"That's George," he said wistfully, holding the tag up.
"He was a good friend to me," Gosling recalled.
"It’s funny to say 'dog' because I feel like there was something about George where he always - I think he felt like he felt being a dog was beneath him, you know? He would not do tricks. If you wanted him even to sit down, you had to sort of convince him it was in his best interest.
"George, as he started to age, started to look like an aging rock star,” he recalled. “He was sorta skinny-fat and he had big hair and, you know, no teeth, open sores, but still sexy."
