Police are investigating after a woman was found dead at the Santa Barbara home of Tarzan actor Ron Ely.

Authorities received a call about a family dispute at the actor’s ranch on Tuesday night, according to CNN.

A suspect was reportedly located and killed in a shooting with authorities.

Ely is believed to be safe. It is unclear whether he was at his home at the time of the incident.

Police didn’t immediately disclose the identity of the victim or the suspect.

The victim had been stabbed, according to reports.

Ely, 81, is best known for playing the titular character in the NBC series Tarzan, which aired between 1966 and 1968. He also played the lead in the 1975 action film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze.

No officers were injured and those involved in the shooting will be put on administrative leave pending an investigation, authorities told CNN.

"We don't know exactly how many shots were fired. We did have several deputies that were involved in the shooting. Fortunately all of our deputies are OK," Lieutenant Erik Raney told KEYT, a local television station.

The Independent has contacted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office for more information.
