Mad Max: Fury Road Clip - Furiosa

George Miller has shared an update on his future Mad Max plans.

The director, whose Oscar-winning thriller Mad Max: Fury Road was released in 2015, assured fans that he was still planning on making not one, but two films.

Speaking to IndieWire, he said: “There are two stories, both involving Mad Max and also a Furiosa story. We’re still solving, we’ve got to play out the Warners thing [but] it seems to be pretty clear that it’s going to happen.”

The “Warners thing” he mentions is a legal battle in which Miller’s production company, Kennedy Miller Mitchell, sued film studio Warner Bros for unpaid earnings on the film.

Miller’s update is great news for Fury Road fans. It’s strongly suspected that Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron would reprise their roles in the new films.

His next film, Three Thousand Years of Longing, is a religious epic starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton.

It begins shooting next year.
