Black Panther will be coming to Netflix, but fans will need to wait until September to see the film on the streaming platform.

Because of Disney's acquisition of Fox and its subsidiaries, the latest Marvel superhero film will be arriving on the streaming service.

Disney has a deal set up that gives Netflix the rights to their films.

Films are added to Netflix about seven months after their theatrical release.

Since Black Panther was released on February 16, the Marvel film will likely be available for streaming in mid-September.

For reference, Captain America: Civil War came out on May 6, 2017 and it came to Netflix on December 25, 2016, just seven months and three weeks later.

Doctor Strange premiered on Netflix just six months and three weeks after its theatrical release on November 4, 2016.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came out on May 5, 2017 and hit Netflix exactly seven months later on December 5, 2017.

Black Panther could be the last Marvel film to stream on Netflix since all of the films will live on Disney's new streaming service in 2019.

With the transition, it's possible Avengers: Infinity War could just miss the cut-off for coming to Netflix.

While Marvel films will be moving off Netflix, Netflix-Marvel series Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage: Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders will remain on the platform.There will be more information about Black Panther's release date on Netflix as it gets closer to the fall.
