National Science Week

Harrods, Knightsbridge (0171-730 1234) today, all day, free

To celebrate , which runs until next Saturday, the Children's Theatre on the fourth floor is being turned into a weird and wonderful world of bubbles, in which an expert will be blowing body-sized bubbles. You can also pick up a leaflet in the department store which entitles children to free entry to the Science Museum (0171-938 8080) when accompanied by a paying adult.

Native American Event

Daisy and Tom, 181 King's Road, London SW3 (0171-352 5000)

Every Saturday this children's emporium in Chelsea has workshops and story-telling sessions. This weekend they will be devoting the day to Native American Indians with colouring and activities plus face painting from 1.30pm.

Lambing Weekends

Wimpole Hall and Home Farm, Arrington, Nr Royston, Cambridge (01223 207257) today and tomorrow, 10.30am-5pm, adults pounds 4.50, children pounds 2.50

For a big "aah" factor, head for this National Trust property - as well as lambs (above), they have Tamworth piglets and goat kids. Trusty the Hedgehog, the National Trust's mascot, will also be paying a visit during every weekend in March.

Legoland

Windsor, Berkshire (0990 040404) today and tomorrow, 10am-6pm, adults pounds 16.50, children pounds 13.50

The little-ones' favourite theme park opens for business again. Children can take to the road, soar through the skies and sail the seas, all before they are even in their teens.

Science Week

More Science Week activities this and next weekend at this restored 18th- century landscape garden, which has a host of different features, including an Animal Engine that used to supply water to Painshill House. A veteran cycle club will also be visiting with their old bicycles, including Pennyfarthings.

Mother's Day Event

Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, Singleton, Chichester (01243 811363) tomorrow, 10.30pm-6pm, adults pounds 5.20 (mothers free), children pounds 2.50

To celebrate Mother's Day, mums who visit this beautiful 50-acre museum in the south Downs with their children will get in free. They will also receive a complimentary bunch of daffodils. NS
