Bike breaks

easyJet holidays has launched a range of European cycling holidays. The collection includes 35 hotels that cater to cyclists and have easy access to top bike routes. Destinations include Spain, Portugal and Andorra, while accommodation features facilities such as cycle lock-up and bike repair. Border control

Panama has closed its border with Colombia in an attempt to curb drug smuggling and illegal immigration. The border will remain closed until 18 June, according to the Panamanian government. gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/panama

Brew attraction

St Austell Brewery has added a new interactive visitor’s centre and expanded the museum at its Cornwall headquarters. Visitors can learn about the history of the brewery and take a behind-the-scenes look at where the beer is produced. Art beat

The Global Gallery Guide is a new search engine linking to 22,000 galleries worldwide, created by the Saatchi Gallery. Users can search by country, city or gallery name, for exhibition listings, overviews of shows and art trends. Lake rooms

Il Sereno is a new all-suite waterfront luxury hotel opening this summer on Lake Como’s eastern shore. It has a private beach and infinity pool, manicured gardens, a spa and a northern Italian restaurant, as well as modern interiors designed by 2015’s Wallpaper Designer of The Year, Patricia Urquiola. Ride the rails

Belmond is launching South America’s first luxury sleeper train. From May 2017, the Belmond Andean Explorer will travel along one of the world’s highest rail routes, across the Peruvian Andes from Cusco to Lake Titicaca and Arequipa, on one- and two-night journeys. The train can carry 68 guests in en-suite cabins, with an open-air Observation Car for enjoying the views. Prices start from US$462 (£330) per person for one night, fully inclusive. belmond.com
