Billy Joe Saunders will defend his WBO super-middleweight title against Marcelo Esteban Coceres on 9 November.

The fight falls on the undercard of KSI‘s rematch against Logan Paul, which takes place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.

Coceres, an undefeated pro has yet to fight at world level and will be making quite the step up in competition.

For Saunders, it is the first bout he will be involved in under Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

It’s expected to be a routine defence of Saunders’ WBO title before he moves on to potential unification fights against the likes of Callum Smith, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant in 2020.

“I’m really looking forward to fighting in LA and making my professional American debut and my first fight under the Matchroom umbrella on DAZN and Sky Sports,” said Saunders.

“Marcelo Esteban Coceres is a tough, world-class operator, an unbeaten fighter and I certainly feel the pressure to outperform him and look good on such a massive platform. Training is going very well, I just have to stay focused and get the job done.”

Lightweight contender and WBC interim title holder Devin Haney is also on the undercard, while prospect Nikita Ababiy is also set to fight on the night after a first round knockout win of Isiah Seldon on the undercard of Gennady Golovkin’s win last weekend.
