Ronaldinho is set to come out of retirement at the age of 39 for Colombian side Independiente Santa Fe.

The legendary Brazilian hung up his boots four years ago after a short spell with Fluminense.

He also featured for Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Flamengo over 17 years, with 97 caps for the Selecao.

And now Ronaldinho is set to pull on the shirt of the nine-time winners of the Colombian league.

The club have announced he will feature in a friendly on October 17 at the Estadio El Campin in Bogota, with the opposition to be decided.

The most expensive ticket for the match is priced at £30.

There is a stumbling block though, with Ronaldinho’s passport seized last year after failing to pay a fine for environmental damage.

Ronaldinho has been working for the Brazilian government as an ambassador for tourism.

“I hope to continue to speak positively about our country wherever I go, inviting people to come here. It makes me very proud,” he said this month.
