Samuel Eto’o has urged Mohamed Salah to swap Liverpool for Barcelona if the chance presents itself.

The former Barcelona star has been impressed by the Egyptian, who helped the Reds win the Champions League this month.

And with Salah currently at the African Cup of Nations, Eto’o believes he should consider a move to the Nou Camp in the future.

“Real Madrid gave me the opportunity to leave Africa but I know Barcelona’s style and I think it would be better for him (Egypt),” said Eto’o.

“If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona.

“Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.”

Salah starred in Egypt’s Group A opening victory against Zimbabwe.

As tournament hosts, Salah and Egypt are the favourites, presenting a wonderful opportunity to secure silverware for club and country in the space of just over a month.

Next up for Salah is DR Congo on June 26, before rounding out the group stage against Uganda on June 30.
