West Ham troll Manchester United as they warn them 'not to be late' for FA Cup replay

West Ham have taken a cheeky dig at Manchester United ahead of their FA Cup sixth-round replay tonight.

United turned up late to their last match, the 3-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday after their coach got stuck in traffic. The 4pm fixture was delayed until 4.30pm.

Tonight's match kicks off at 7pm, and the Hammers Twitter account posted this jovial message:

The late start on Sunday did United no favours - they were beaten 3-0 and never really got going.

Ahead of tonight's match, midfielder Ander Herrera has stressed there is no doubt in the Manchester United camp about the significance of Wednesday's FA Cup quarter-final replay at West Ham.

The competition, which United have won 11 times but not since 2004, represents the final chance of a trophy in what has been a disappointing season for the Old Trafford club.

The last time they claimed silverware of any kind was in 2013, and Red Devils midfielder Herrera - who joined in 2014 - told MUTV: "We realise how important it is for us as players and for our fans to get a trophy.

"I know how important the FA Cup is for our fans.

"And we don't have players in the dressing room who have won it for United.

"I was talking to (United midfielder) Michael Carrick about it and he told me he wants to win and get to Wembley."
