Jonjo Shelvey’s spectacular late free-kick saw Newcastle United inflict another huge blow on Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

The 2-2 draw at St James’ Park could leave Pep Guardiola’s side as many as 11 points adrift by the end of the weekend, with Liverpool facing Brighton later today.

Raheem Sterling had given City the lead in a lethargic first half before Jetro Willems cancelled out the goal just three minutes later.
