Ashley Young has become the latest Manchester United player to sign a new contract with the club.

The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his deal that now expires at the end of next season.

Young has made 227 appearances for the Old Trafford club since joining from Aston Villa back in 2011 scoring 17 goals and has proven a versatile utility option in both midfield and defence.

Last week Phil Jones signed a new contract until at least 2023, while Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay all agreed new deals earlier this season.

It is understood that Ander Herrera is close to extending his contract beyond the end of the season, while Juan Mata is another player whose deal is expiring.

Negotiations are also continuing with star man David De Gea, while it is understood the club have opened talks with Marcus Rashford over a new and improved deal.
