Manchester United news: Jose Mourinho takes shot at Gary Neville and Paul Scholes for management failure

The Portuguese has suggested the pair do not have what it takes despite outstanding playing careers

Jose Mourinho has taken an apparent swipe at Gary Neville and Paul Scholes for their failure in management.

The former Manchester United stars were previously critical of the Portuguese during his time at Old Trafford.

Though both struggled to inspire success in their short stints in management: Neville receiving the sack at Valencia, while Scholes walked away from Oldham after just a month.

And Mourinho’s latest comments appear to be aimed at the duo, claiming that neither of them have what it takes to succeed as managers despite great playing careers.

“But the experience to be there, we have even in England, former top players, amazing in front of the screen,” Mourinho told RT.

“They go to football clubs, and after two months, goodbye, let’s go home because this is not right for us.

“So there are things you have it, or you don’t have it.”

Mourinho also revealed how he made it to the top and what it takes to succeed in management.

“There is one part of it [management] that people sometimes forget, even some top pundits, they forget it, which is you have to be born with some talent adapted,” Mourinho added.

“It’s a little bit the same thing as what football academies can make with players.
