Jurgen Klopp threatens to quit Carabao Cup over fixture congestion

The Christmas period is a busy time for every football club, with schedulers keen to cram in as many fixtures as possible with viewing figures high, attendances good and everyone ready for some festive footballing fun.

No club has a busier festive schedule than Liverpool FC, with Jurgen Klopp’s side in action eleven times in little more than a month in four different competitions as the Reds look to press for honours.

With a place to defend at the top of the Premier League table, a Carabao Cup quarter-final, a Club World Cup campaign and a potentially crucial Champions League clash all to be juggled, it will be a hectic and hellish time for Klopp, who will have to manage his squad carefully to avoid injury and fatigue and keep pushing onwards on all fronts.

Eleven games, 34 days, four competitions – Liverpool’s festive fixture list revealed:

How will Liverpool get on during their Christmas fixtures?
