Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has dropped goalkeeper Kepa for today’s Premier League match at Leicester City.

The £71.6m signing has endured a difficult campaign for the Blues and did not play in Chelsea’s most recent match, a 2-1 FA Cup win over Hull City.

38-year-old veteran Willy Caballero was selected to start in that match and Lampard hinted last week that he could stick with the Argentine for today’s crucial Premier League match.

And Lampard stayed true to his word, selecting Caballero to start his first Premier League match since he kept a clean sheet away to Leicester on 12 May last season.

“It’s a decision I have not taken lightly,” the Chelsea boss said ahead of the match. “I trust in Willy Caballero, I trust in both keepers.”

Lampard meanwhile selected Pedro to start up front either side of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham, who passed a late fitness test.

Teams:

Leicester: Schmeichel, Ricardo Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell, Choudhury, Perez, Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Vardy.

Subs: Justin, Gray, Albrighton, Ward, Iheanacho, Praet, Fuchs.

Chelsea: Caballero, James, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Pedro.

Subs: Arrizabalaga, Alonso, Barkley, Willian, Kovacic, Batshuayi, Tomori.

Referee: Lee Mason (Lancashire)
