Unai Emery says Granit Xhaka was wrong to swear at fans

Granit Xhaka has posted a cryptic message about "happiness" on Instagram.

The Swiss midfielder was stripped of the Arsenal captaincy by Unai Emery last month after his outburst against Crystal Palace.

And his message appears to be a swipe at Arsenal fans, with his words accompanying an image of the midfielder playing for Switzerland.

"Happiness is when you are satisfied with yourself and do not need the confirmation of others," Xhaka wrote in German alongside the image of him playing.

Xhaka has not yet returned to the Arsenal side since his angry esponse to abuse from fans as he was substituted in that Palace fixture.

Newcastle are rumoured to be interested in signing the midfielder in January with significant doubts about his future at the Emirates Stadium.
