Mesut Ozil appears to have sent a message to both Unai Emery and Arsenal with a cryptic Twitter post.
The German has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium under Emery and has started just one game, against Cardiff, since the turn of the year.
He did not travel to Belarus for Arsenal's Europa League defeat to BATE Borisov on Thursday night, having still been feeling the effects of illness.
There has been intense speculation over the future of the 30-year-old midfielder, who signed a new contract worth a reported £350,000 a week before tax in January last year which ties him to the club until 2021.
On Friday evening, Ozil posted a picture of himself wearing the Arsenal captain's armband along with a quote from club legend Dennis Bergkamp appearing to indicate he will not be forced out of the club against his will.

AP
BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Koscielny - 6 Not his finest game. Struggled with his footing throughout.
REUTERS

REUTERS
BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Maitland-Niles - 6 The youngster is still learning his trade at right-back and this wasn’t his finest game. Sloppy in possession – no Arsenal player gave the ball away more.

BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Kolasinac - 7 Arsenal’s best player. Rampaged forward often and should have opened the scoring only to drill a shot wide. Made an incredible SEVEN key passes – four more than any other Arsenal player.

BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Mkhitaryan - 6 A tidy enough performance – but then isn’t that the problem? He just never seems to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and Arsenal sorely needed a leader here.

BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Iwobi - 6 Attempted to get the ball forward and worked tirelessly – although will inevitably be unfairly singled out as Arsenal’s scapegoat.
AP
BATE vs Arsenal player ratings Lacazette - 4 Had the ball in the back of the net in the second-half, only to be correctly ruled offside. Was then sent off late for mindlessly swinging his arm into a BATE defender. Will miss the second leg next week.

"When you start supporting a football club, you don't support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong," it read.

Ozil has divided opinion among Gunners fans since joining from Real Madrid in 2013.
