Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn from the Wales squad, prompting injury concerns over the Arsenal midfielder.

Ramsey did not feature in Wales’ friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday due to a nagging thigh injury and did not train with the team on Saturday.

“We hoped Aaron would make it but he has gone back to Arsenal. It’s a blow,” said Wales manager Ryan Giggs.

Gareth Bale was rested for Wednesday’s match but is fit and available to return to the national side.

“I’m looking forward to this qualifying campaign for Wales,” said Bale.

“We’re ready to give everything for the jersey. We want to be playing in the major tournaments and experience again what we’ve been through.

“We’re going for top spot. There’s no reason why we can’t win the group.”

Bournemouth’s David Brooks is also set to feature having overcome an ankle injury.

Wales take on Slovakia on Tuesday, who began their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Hungary.
