Chelsea have been charged by Uefa after supporters threw objects on the pitch and invaded the field during the club’s Europa League tie with Malmo.
Maurizio Sarri’s side clinched a 2-1 victory after Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud scored either side of half-time, however a late strike from Andreas Christiansen – not to be confused with his Blues namesake- kept the tie alive.
At the end of the game, two Chelsea supporters ran onto the pitch, with one hugging Eden Hazard before the Belgian gave the fan his shirt.
After the match Hazard played the matter down: “It’s not an incident. He just asked for my shirt,” Hazard said.
Ugly clashes between both sets of supporters followed upon the final whistle.
