Police in California are investigating a brawl that broke out between family members at Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland – with a video showing children screaming amid the melee.

Disneyland said that any violence is “inexcusable” and that the family was removed from the park and handed straight to Anaheim police. However, officers said the family involved were “uncooperative” and no arrests were made

Police said that the emergence of the video, which was posted to YouTube on Sunday, means the “investigation can continue” and criminal charges could follow.

In the video, the incident begins with an argument between a man and a woman with a pushchair holding two young girls in front of Goofy’s Playhouse. The man is shown to take a swing at the woman after she appears to spit in his face.

Another man steps in and the two males start throwing punches at each other. Over the course of five minutes a number of family members join the brawl.

Children can be heard crying and screaming in the background as other park-goers hurry past the fighting.

Later, the man seen at the start of the argument punches a woman and then drags her by her hair across the pavement, the video shows.

A woman riding a motorised scooter is knocked down as she tries to stop the stop the fight. Two people rush to help her up.

Jason Blair, from Texas, was one of those who tried to get the woman back up. “I didn’t understand why people were recording and not helping,” he told local television outlet KFOX14.

Mr Blair said that he was concerned for the safety of children in the area and would not not hesitate to act again if he saw something similar.

“Without a doubt I would do it again. When something is not right you have to jump in,” he said.
