Vasile Belea: Romanian man missing in London after Tube doors separated him from his son
A 63-year-old Romanian man visiting his son for Christmas has been missing in London since the pair were separated by closing Tube doors.
Vasile Belea is due to return to Romania at the end of January.
PC Richard Owen, from Sutton’s Missing Persons Unit, said Mr Belea speaks limited English, adding that he is 6ft tall with grey hair, was wearing blue jeans, a long dark black jacket and a black flat cap when he got separated. This happened at Stockwell, south London, at 10am on Tuesday.
Police suspect he may have caught the next Victoria Line service or tried to return to Hackbridge, Sutton, where his son lives.
He had money and an Oyster card with him, but was not carrying any medication for his arthritis. He has an iPhone but it has no SIM card.
Anyone with information on Mr Belea's whereabouts can call police on 101 or the Missing People charity on 116 000.
