McDonald's worker attacked by two men during late night brawl

Police are searching for two “drunk” men caught on camera attacking a McDonald’s worker in an outlet in Lincolnshire.

Diners in Boston watched on as the employee was subjected to an assault, which saw the two attackers repeatedly punch and grapple with the restaurant worker.

Mobile phone footage, filmed by an onlooker, shows employees and diners alike stand and watch as the victim attempts in vain to hold the men off.

A woman can be heard imploring people to intervene, before the assault eventually ends and the pair appear to leave.

But one eyewitness said it was just the first of three attacks on the same member of staff. The final encounter saw one of the attackers allegedly swing a metal object at the employee after ripping it from a McDonald’s door.

“The young lads wanted a fight from the beginning – they were being really stupid and were shouting and swearing at the workers,” a bystander told Lincolnshire Live.

"The two lads who were fighting were drunk. One of the boys was trying to lock one member of staff in the toilets.”

Police arrived shortly after the incident, which occurred around 11pm on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Mail, the mother of the two men, who were allegedly brothers, issued an apology on Facebook for her sons’ actions.

“I know what had happened and it is not acceptable, I’m very sad and ashamed that my boys would do this and it will be being sorted,” she reportedly said.

“I’m very sorry on behalf of my boys,” she added.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said: “On arrival officers found that one staff member had been involved and the other men had left the area, a search was carried out for them but they could not be traced.

“A number of enquiries are ongoing and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us by calling 101 and quoting incident number 556 of 07/08/2018.”
