Fly-tipper caught on CCTV dumping dead fox in garden

A fly-tipper was caught on CCTV dumping a dead fox and a bag full of rubbish in a garden.

The hooded litterer flung the carcass on to a front lawn while walking along a street in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Seconds later, the suspect emptied the contents of a plastic bag over another patch of grass before carrying on down the road.

One resident who asked to remain anonymous claimed it was just the latest in a series of similar incidents in recent weeks.

“I think the person is a local,” he said. “It happens so much — usually the night before bin day.

“He must have poisoned the fox or something, or whacked it across the head with a great big stick.

“My neighbours had the problem for a month, but now it’s in our garden too.”

He described the video as “incredible”, and asked: “How do you dispose of a fox?”

Vale of White Horse District Council appealed for information about the litterer to be sent to their environmental crime officers.

“We are investigating a case of fly-tipping where someone dumped a dead fox and rubbish onto front gardens in Appleford Drive, Abingdon, just after 1am on Tuesday, 7 January,” it said.

“If you have any information about this incident please email envirocrime@southandvale.gov.uk or call 01235 422403.”
