Kim Jong-un side-eyes Trump after President asks photographers to make them look 'handsome and thin'

A barber in Hanoi, Vietnam, is offering customers Donald Trump- and Kim Jong-un- inspired hairdos ahead of the summit set to take place between the president of the United States and the North Korean leader next week.

The haircuts are being offered at Tuan Duong Beauty Academy in the Vietnamese capitol, the Associated Press reports – and they are free.

To achieve the President Trump look, customers undergo hair-bleaching to mimic the yellow-orange blonde seen on the US leader.

Those opting for the Kim Jong-un option have the sides of their hair buzzed short, with the hair on top kept long and shaped into a square-like shape.

According to Le Tuan Duong, the hairdresser giving customers the infamous hairdos, he wanted to come up with a way of showing the two leaders that the people of Hanoi are supportive of the summit intended to improve relations between the two countries.

“Hanoi is a city of peace. When Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un decide to come here to talk about restoring peace, I think I should do something to show that Hanoi people welcome the summit,” Duong said.

And the hairstyles have already proven to be a hit with clients, as nine-year-old To Gia Huy, who chose the North Korean dictator’s style, told the AP: “Many people say that I look like Kim Jong-un, especially when I have this hairstyle.”

Huy also said he is often referred to by the nickname “Un” because of his resemblance to Mr Kim.

As for what each hairstyle represents, Duong said that Mr Kim’s style is more youthful and a “lot more popular among customers”, but that Mr Trump’s hair displays power.

The barber’s promotion will continue through the end of the summit, which is scheduled to take place on 27-28 February.

The second summit between the two leaders comes after the pair first met in June 2018 to discuss peace and denuclearisation.
