Taylor Swift sent a college student thousands of dollars to help her pay for her tuition after the woman revealed she was struggling to afford the cost.
On Monday, Ayesha Khurram, from Toronto, Canada, shared a screenshot to Instagram and Tumblr of an email she received informing her of a PayPal transaction for $6,386 CAD ($4,800, £3,975) from Taylor Nation, LLC.
Included in the transaction was a note from Swift reading: “Ayesha, get your learn on girl. I love you! Taylor.”
On Instagram, Khurram captioned the post: “I posted about struggling with paying for tuition. Two hours later, I get this in my email. I have no words and I can’t stop crying. I don’t have words I don’t have words I can’t stop crying.”
In videos posted to her social media, the student also profusely thanked the You Need to Calm Down singer for her help and generosity.
“Y’all I don’t deserve Taylor Swift one bit,” she said on her Instagram Stories. “Wow I have no words.”
On Tumblr, Khurram said through tears: “Every single time in my life I’ve been going through something you’ve been there for me.”

The surprise donation came just hours after Khurram opened up about her struggles to afford her tuition and rent for the upcoming school year on Tumblr, where she has a profile photo of the pop star.
“My PayPal is ayeshakhurram13@gmail.com & I truly cannot afford my tuition or rent this semester so if you wanna help me out I’m honestly at the point where I can’t really refuse it,” Khurram wrote.
This is not the first time the 29-year-old singer has helped fans with financial struggles. In 2015, Swift sent another Tumblr user $1,989 to help her pay off her student loans, and in 2017, the singer helped a pregnant fan purchase a house and baby supplies.
