St. Patrick’s Day feels a little different this year as the coronavirus outbreak forces the cancellation of parties and parades both at home and abroad.

People have been urged to stay away from bars and restaurants meaning that revellers who may otherwise have been out celebrating are staying at home.

But that hasn’t stopped fans getting into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, with animal-lovers flooding social media with cute snaps of their four-legged friends clad in Irish-themed outfits.

Honouring the big day with a splash of green, white and gold, social media users have dressed up their cats and dogs as leprechauns, complete with shamrock bow ties and green top hats.
