Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have released more photos from their wedding celebration - including the stunning gowns worn during the wedding ceremonies honouring both of their backgrounds.

For the bride’s first dress, worn for the Western ceremony, she wore a high-neck gown designed by Ralph Lauren that appears on the cover of People magazine.

According to Chopra, she chose the designer after learning that Lauren had “only designed three wedding dresses in 50 years - one for his daughter, his daughter-in-law, and his niece.”

“I was blown away,” she explained to the magazine of the hand-beaded and hand-embroidered dress with 135 satin buttons that took 1,826 hours to embroider and featured names and phrases important to the bride, including her husband's name, parent's names, and anniversary date.

Chopra also had a piece of her mother-in-law's lace wedding dress sewn into the gown.

And underneath the dress was a strapless column dress made of 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins, according to People.

The look was completed with an extravagant 75-foot-long tulle veil.

For Chopra’s second wedding gown, worn for the couple’s Hindu wedding, she wore a custom red lehenga by Sabyasachi, which took 3,720 hours and 110 embroiderers to create, and a matching red veil. She accessorised with Mughal-inspired jewellery.

On social media, people are gushing over the elaborate and sentimental outfits.

“I have fainted looking at that dress,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “Priyanka has the most beautiful wedding dress I’ve seen BY FAR.”

Others are expressing their love for the veil, which required five people to carry.

“Priyanka’s veil is bigger than my future,” someone wrote.

After the wedding ceremonies, Chopra changed into a white lehenga for the reception, which she completed with diamond earrings and a statement necklace.

The couple also followed tradition leading up to their wedding in India - by celebrating with a Mehendi ceremony where Chopra wore a colourful gown.

Of the unique wedding to Jonas, which Chopra described as the “best decision of my life,” she told People: “I love that our wedding was a religious mash-up.
