Love Island: Luke T asks Siannise for consent to touch her during night in the hideaway

Love Island viewers have praised one of the reality show’s contestants for highlighting the importance of consent.

On Sunday night’s episode, contestant Finn Tapp received a text message announcing that one couple would be allowed to enter the “Hideaway” – a private boudoir separate from the villa’s main bedroom.

Finn read out the message, saying: “Islanders, The Hideaway is open and you must choose one lucky couple to spend the night alone #pillowtalk #sleepingscheating.”

The contestants picked Luke Trotman – otherwise known as Luke T – and Siannise Fudge as the couple to enter the room and the pair both admitted they can’t wait to spend the night alone together.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to spend the night alone with Siannise in the hideaway,” Luke T said, while Siannise ran upstairs to change her clothing, saying: “Girls, I need to look a 10/10.”

During their time in the hideaway, Siannise performed a lap dance for Luke T when the footballer asked for permission to touch her.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to praise his behaviour and for highlighting how important and simple it is to ask for consent.

“Luke T just asked for consent before touching her!! His mama raised a good boy,” one person wrote.

Another added: “When Luke T asked if he could touch her, instead of just assuming. what a guy!!!! See how easy consent is.”

A third person agreed, writing: “Luke T proving that CONSENT IS SEXY and does NOT ruin the moment. Take notes lads #LoveIsland”.

Last week, Love Island host Laura Whitmore revealed that she and boyfriend Iain Sterling, who does the show’s voiceover, barely see each other despite both working on the reality programme.

“Iain and I only see each other briefly; we’re working to different times,” she told The Times.

“We don’t even stay in the same hotel room because sometimes I’m working until 4am and he’s finished at 9pm.”

The 34-year-old added that despite the couple not spending much time together, they are “very strong”.

She also admitted that prior to watching Love Island, she sometimes judged the women on the show.

“Before I’d ever watched Love Island I probably prejudged girls [like that], but getting to know the islanders you’re, like, ‘Oh, you’re a real person, you’ve got banter,” Whitmore said.

“It’s ok to care about how you look; you can still be smart.”
