Lewis Burton has confirmed that he and Caroline Flack are still together after the former Love Island host was charged with assaulting him at her London home.

On Wednesday, Burton shared an Instagram Story featuring an old photograph of the couple alongside the caption: “We ain’t split. Can’t wait to see you.”

It had previously been reported that the duo parted ways following the assault charge, which led Flack to step down from her Love Island role.

In December, Flack was arrested and charged with assault by beating after an alleged fight with Burton.

At the time, a spokesperson for the Met Police told The Independent that, while Burton’s injuries were not “serious”, he was taken to hospital and treated by paramedics.

Both Flack and Burton have stayed largely silent on social media since the charge.

However, on Christmas Eve, Flack shared a post on Instagram, where she has 2.3 million followers.

“Been advised not to go on social media... but I wanted to say happy Christmas to everyone who has been so incredibly kind to me this year,” the caption began.

Flack went on to address speculations surrounding the assault charge.

“This kind of scrutiny and speculation is a lot to take on for one person to take on their own,” she said.

“I’m a human being at the end of the day and I’m not going to be silenced when I have a story to tell and a life to keep going with.

“I’m taking some time out to get feeling better and learn some lessons from situations I’ve got myself into to. I have nothing but love to give and best wishes for everyone.”

On 23 December, Flack pleaded not guilty to assault at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court.

Following her arrest, the 40-year-old was released on bail with conditions that stop her having any contact with Burton ahead of a trial on 4 March.

Flack’s Love Island hosting duties have been taken over by Irish TV presenter Laura Whitmore.
