Kim Kardashian has revealed that her husband Kanye West has banned the couple’s daughter North from wearing makeup until she is a teenager, sparking a “big fight in the household”.

The KKW Beauty makeup mogul explained West’s reasoning to E News during an event at Ulta, where she said: “North is trying to get in on the makeup but she’s being blocked heavily because her dad has stopped all makeup for her until she is a teenager.

“It’s a big discussion, a big fight in the household right now but it is what’s best.”

The 39-year-old then added: “I think as a parent you just learn and figure it out as you go and we realised we didn’t really want her to wear makeup at a young age but she sees her mom putting on lipstick and lip gloss.”

This isn’t the first time Kardashian has opened up about the rapper’s strict rules regarding makeup for their six-year-old daughter.

During a KKW Beauty event, the reality star said she’d gotten “in trouble” with her husband after allowing North to wear lipstick on special occasions.

“She loves makeup, but her dad won’t let her wear it… I think he had it, he changed all the rules,” Kardashian said. “I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I'd let her do one pop of something. I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip.

“Kylie would give her all of these lip kits, so I kind of got in trouble for that. So, it’s now no more makeup.”

In March, Kardashian also faced a backlash on social media from mum-shamers, who criticised her for allowing North to wear black lipstick to church services hosted by the family.

West, who today released his long-awaited new album Jesus is King, has also banned the couple’s oldest child from wearing crop tops - a decision he says he made after becoming a Christian.

Speaking with Zane Lowe for Beats 1, the rapper said he doesn’t think North should wear crop tops because he “thinks and feels differently now”.

“I don’t think North should wear crop tops just because I had her wearing a slip dress when she was two-years-old. I think and feel differently now, now that I’m Christian, now that I’m founder of a $3bn organisation and married for five years,” he said.
