No Man's Sky delayed until 'July or August', according to reports
The game's Guildford-based developers, Hello Games, have not yet commented on the rumours
The highly-anticipated space exploration game No Man's Sky has been delayed, according to reports.
The game, which is set for release on 21 June for PC and PlayStation 4, has apparently now been bumped back until "at least July or August," as Kotaku reports, citing two sources.
No Man's Sky was first announced in 2013, and hype has been building ever since. The player takes control of a space traveller, and has completely free rein to fly around an enormous in-game galaxy made up of quintillions of explorable planets.
Players can discover new planets, find new species, mine for raw materials and upgrade their spaceship, all while fighting off attacks from space pirates.
It's a hugely ambitious game, which explains all the anticipation, and possibly the delay.
One of Kotaku's sources is a Gamestop employee, who told the site that staff had been instructed to cover up the release date on the game's marketing materials with a 'Coming Soon' sticker.
There are no solid updates on when the game might now be released, and Guildford-based developers Hello Games have not commented on the rumours. We've contacted them for more information.
