Fortnite is finally back online, after a nearly two day outage.

Players can now play "Chapter 2", an entirely new update with a whole new map and a range of new features.

As well as redesigning the world and new skins and weapons, the new update brings boats and the ability to swim. Players can now also catch fish and eat them.

Epic's official page included a whole series of patch notes that introduced the new world.

They promised an "all-new island featuring 13 new locations"; new water gameplay that includes swimming, fishing and boats; new squad features such as a gun that can heal teammates, the ability to carry other players, and group emotes; the ability to hide in objects or make them explode; new weapons and upgrades; and a new levelling up system that features "a brand new XP system and medals you earn in match".

The update follows a bizarre "black hole" event, which saw players unable to get on the game for nearly two days. Instead, anyone logging in was forced to look at a black hole.

The black hole appeared after Fortnite's Season 10 came to an end with a dramatic event that saw the world wiped out by huge asteroids and then disappeared into the swirling void.
