Easter might still be months away but Cadbury has already announced its new offerings for the chocolate-laden holiday. 

The confectionery giant has revealed that it is launching full-size Oreo Creme Eggs in the UK for the very first time following the success of the miniature versions last year.

The full-sized eggs, which will cost 58p, are already on sale in Canada and are set to arrive on British soil in January 2019.

So, what exactly are they?

The new Oreo Creme Egg will have the same thick chocolate shell as the original Creme Egg, but will be filled with Oreo’s signature creamy filling and crunchy biscuit chunks. 

There’s more good news too. They also contain less sugar, with 16g per egg compared to 26.5g in the original Creme Egg. 

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait to get your hands on one though. The Oreo Creme Eggs aren’t set to launch until next year and, as a limited edition product, they will only be available until Easter Sunday, which falls on April 2. 

Aislinn Campbell, brand manager at Cadbury, said: “We are constantly listening to what our customers want and we know fans went wild last year when they heard about the Oreo Egg.

“So for Easter 2019, we are bringing this to the UK and we cannot wait for everyone to try it.”

In light of the news, Twitter reactions have been mixed with many people eager to try the new combination while others are less enthused. 

“Omg, a full size Oreo Creme Egg is coming out,” one person wrote.

Another added: “Okay, I need this.”

Someone else commented: “They’re doing an Oreo Creme Egg and I am uncomfortable.”

This isn’t the first time Cadbury has joined forces with Oreo. In 2017, the chocolate giant launched a range of products including the Oreo Shell Egg Minis, Oreo Easter Egg Sharing Bar and the Egg ‘n’ Spoon Oreo.

Cadbury also caused serious chocolate commotion last year with a nationwide Easter Egg hunt for a limited number of white chocolate Creme Eggs.

There were just 371 of the eggs spread out across various shops, and the top prize egg - which would win the owner £2,000 - was in a branch of Co-Op.

But according to the confectioners, no one ever found the egg and claimed the £2,000.
