An £85 coat from River Island is flying off store shelves after being given the seal of approval by style bloggers on Instagram.

A crucial addition to any well-dressed woman’s wardrobe at this time of year, finding a coat that will keep you warm and look stylish at the same time can prove a tricky and time consuming task.

But this season just a quick scroll on your Insta-feed promises to do all the hard work for you.

Part of River Island’s autumn/winter 2018 collection, the "Brown Vinyl Tie Waist Trench Coat" has dominated social media in recent weeks with a range of fashion bloggers and even model Adwoa Aboah sporting the glossy style.

In fact, it’s proved so popular that earlier this week the high street brand confirmed sales of the trench were up by 40 per cent.

Priced at just £85, the coat that everyone’s talking about bears a striking resemblance to similar versions seen on the autumn/winter runways of designers like Fendi, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton for a fraction of the price.

It also taps directly into the new season trends for high-shine finishes and rich, autumnal brown hues.

River Island recently shared a video on their Instagram of the coat being styled three-ways, going from day to night, which garnered more than 43,000 views.

On a separate post, commenters showered the item with praise, with one person exclaiming: “This jacket is needed in my life”.

Another added: “I need this coat in my wardrobe now”.

Unfortunately, River Island has confirmed to The Independent that the coat is now sold out and that the company currently has no plans to re-stock.
