Oscars 2019: Red carpet fashion

Hollywood has rolled up its red carpet for another year following the historic successes of the 2019 Oscars on Sunday evening.

Best Costume Design winner Ruth E. Carter made history as the first black woman to win in the category while Spike Lee won his first Best Screenplay Oscar for his film BlacKkKlansman.

And while Olivia Colman’s Best Actress speech and Rami Malek’s kiss with actor Lucy Boynton remain topics of conversation, its the red carpet fashion from the ceremony that continues to captivate the attention of sartorial fans.

According to global fashion search platform Lyst, searches for Christian Siriano increased by 100 per cent on the website following Billy Porter’s appearance in a tuxedo gown by the designer on the red carpet.

Meanwhile, Jason Momoa’s pink velvet suit sparked a 750 per cent increase in searches for velvet blazers after he sported a Karl Lagerfeld-designer suit and matching-coloured Fendi scrunchie to the awards show.

However, what if we told you that it’s now possible to buy the red carpet gowns worn on the runway online?

From Lady Gaga’s Breakfast at Tiffany's-inspired Brandon Maxwell ball gown (complete with a 128-carat ‘Tiffany’ diamond), to Emilia Clarke’s bright orange Rosie Assoulin puff-sleeve dress, here are several Oscar red carpet gowns you can click to buy.

We’ll race you to the checkout.
