Giambattista Valli x H&M: Designer Collaboration 2019

H&M has announced its latest designer collaboration, partnering with Giambattista Valli for an ethereal new range.

The announcement of the high street brand's partnership with the Italian fashion designer was made on Thursday evening at the amfAR gala in Cannes.

While the main collection is due to be released worldwide from 7 November, from Saturday 25 May consumers will be able to purchase H&M x Giambattista Valli items worn on the red carpet at the event in selected stores and online.

During the announcement, Valli was joined by several celebrities wearing stunning pieces from the range, including model Kendall Jenner, Grammy Award-winning singer H.E.R and and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actor Ross Lynch.

Valli said he's "excited" about his collaboration with H&M, saying that the high street brand provides him with an opportunity to share his "vision of style" and his "celebration of beauty" to a larger audience.

"The goal is to share my love for beauty and to be able to be part of everyone's 'happy moments', to help create love stories all around the world," the haute couture designer stated.

The range marks the first time Valli has ever designed menswear.

Jenner wore a hot pink, layered, strapless chiffon dress from the range to the gala, a gown which she described as "gorgeous, dramatic and fiercely feminine".

"“I’m so happy to be wearing one of the first pieces from the Giambattista Valli x H&M collaboration here at the amfAR gala," the 23-year-old added on the night.

On Saturday 25 May, 12 selected H&M stores around the world – including the London Regent Street store – and the H&M website will be selling a limited number of pieces from the range.

Pieces from the range include a mini, hot pink chiffon dress for £299.99, a white, lace corset gown for £399.99 and a long silk dress for £149.99.

Valli's collaboration with H&M is the latest in a string of partnerships between the high street retailer and designer labels.

In November, H&M launched a range in partnership with luxury fashion house Moschino, with fans queuing outside stores for hours for a chance to get their hands of pieces from the collection.

Valli, born and raised in Rome, launched his eponymous label in 2005.

In 2011, the fashion designer was accepted as an Official Member of the Chamber Syndicale de la Haute Couture, one of the trade associations of the French fashion industry's governing body.
