French Connection launches debut bridal collection
The range will be available from 1 February 2018
For many brides, the wedding day is all about the dress – second only to marrying the love of your life, of course – but with the average cost of a wedding estimated to be well in excess of £20,000, it’s no wonder penny-pinching lovebirds are looking for ways to cut back.
Luckily though, the rise of high street bridal collections means that women everywhere can walk down the aisle in the dress of their dreams, regardless of their budget.
Following in the footsteps of Whistles, Topshop, Asos and Dorothy Perkins, French Connection is the latest brand to launch an affordable range of wedding and bridesmaid dresses that won’t break the bank.
Inspired by the wedding gowns of celebrities including Kate Moss, Poppy Delevingne and Bianca Jagger, the collection is a capsule of modern yet diaphanous gowns in delicate shades of white and summer sorbet hues.
So, what can we expect from the edit, which ranges from £65 to £250?
For the bride, the collection features everything from boho-inspired gowns with romantic voluminous sleeves, to hand-embellished bodices and full-length skirts.
Alternatively, the range also caters for those who don’t dig dresses with lace trousers worn with a pussy-bow blouse, and a top and culottes twinset.
To compliment the bridal designs, French Connection’s offering also delivers a range of bridesmaid dresses in colourful embroidery, layers of tulle and ethereal beaded blooms that promise to add a touch of sparkle to the day.
Launching in Spring 2018, this line is just the beginning, with the brand hinting at future plans to extend the collection for more seasonal wedding looks.
