Behind the curtain of any major catwalk show, a team of stylists, makeup artists and assistants work hard to perfect the designer’s vision, giving models a chance to sit back and relax while the professionals take control. That is, unless you’re Bella Hadid.
Instead of taking some time out ahead of the Brandon Maxwell show this week, Hadid decided to show off the hairstyling skills she’s picked up along the way.

As a team of stylists transformed the supermodel’s locks into a “supersonic ballerina bun”, Hadid played hairdresser to her childhood friend, Ally Aflalo.
As Aflalo perched in front of the supermodel, Hadid slicked back her thick, wavy hair into a chic pony tail, using a boar bristle brush.
“She said she was making it look like when I was little,” Aflalo said backstage.
The model’s friend shared a picture of her hair being styled on Instagram, where people celebrated the pair’s close relationship.
“Helping a sis out” one person wrote.
Another added: “Go best friend, gotta get that snatch one way or another.”
Hairstyling isn’t the only thing Hadid is good at. The supermodel also shared a video on her Instagram account from the same event showing off her facial massage skills.
“What happens when I’m extra early – impromptu facial massage choreography by @tompecheux during z makeup demo…obviously [sic],” she wrote.
In the clip, Hadid can be seen copying massage techniques from Tom Pecheux, makeup artist and YSL’s Global Beauty Director, in front of a mirror.
The supermodel has had a busy New York Fashion Week schedule so far, stealing the show at Ralph Lauren in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired gold dress.
In contrast to the laidback setting of a coffee shop, Hadid twirled through the store alongside fellow models Taylor Hill and Anja Rubik.
The 22-year-old also appeared in one of the most talked about shows of the weekend, Tomo Koizumi.
Joining a cast of famous faces, from actresses Gwendoline Christie and Rowan Blanchard to models Emily Ratajkowski and Joan Smalls, Hadid sported a dramatic rainbow gown fashioned from layers of ruffled tulle.
