Ariana Grande improvises song in video for new Givenchy campaign

A new video for Givenchy's autumn/winter 2019 campaign starring Ariana Grande has been released, in which the star improvises a melodic song while on set at a photo shoot.

In May, the French fashion house first teased that the singer had been made the "new face of Givenchy".

Earlier this month, the first official pictures from Grande's campaign with the luxury label were unveiled, showing the star wearing looks including an off-shoulder embellished top with balloon sleeves and an emerald blazer with an exaggerated shoulder design.

The new video for the campaign, released on YouTube on Wednesday, takes the viewer behind-the-scenes of a Grande photo shoot with Givenchy.

It begins with the camera trailing behind Grande as she walks through a series of hallways, carrying a drink in her right hand and singing a harmonious melody.

The tune that Grande was singing – which comes from the song "Humble" produced by Sage The Gemini – is then transformed into a synthetic beat, which is played on loop as the 26-year-old poses for the photographer.

Grande proceeds to then add some improvised lyrics to the tune as she is being photographed, singing: "I'mma sing about what's happening right now. Shooting my campaign for Givenchy. That's right b***h."

Later on in the photo shoot, Grande's phone starts ringing from the small handbag which she is posing with, seemingly as part of a skit.

The singer apologises profusely as she takes out her phone, revealed to have a Givenchy phone case.

Grande is told over the phone that she needs to leave the photo shoot. As the musician exits, she asks if she can keep the belted Givenchy coat that she is wearing, before also grabbing a large handbag as she runs out the door.

Several of the singer's "Arianators" – the name given to Grande's dedicated horde of fans – have commented underneath the video on YouTube.

"She's matured so much! She is an amazing woman and she is so funny," one wrote.

"I love her so much, she has such a bubbly personality," another added.

Grande recently spoke out after a model accused a celebrity photographer of bribing her for nude portraits.

The singer shared a message on her Instagram Story warning artists not to work with photographers who make them feel uncomfortable and to "look out for one another".
