New Balance produce beautiful kit. Canadian star and Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic wears the brand, as does Heather Watson.

The Tournament Polo is a sleek tee designed to move with the body. It features a contemporary v neck. The material is silky to touch and did not restrict moved with ease on court.

New Balance Tournament Dress: £80, New Balance

The Tournament Dress is a delicate feminine piece designed to enable you to perform at your peak.

With its stretchy knit moisture wicking materials, it is manufactured to keep you cool while ensuring you look your best.

The back panels are perforated to allow for some additional ventilation. The quality of this garment is superb and it proved comfortable on court. We particularly like the discrete NB logo.

The Soft 500 dress proves that looking good on court doesn't have to cost the earth.

Our only gripe is that it could do with a pair of shorts underneath.

Head are perhaps better known for their excellent tennis rackets – but they also have an extensive range of clothing. The Vision Graphic Dress adds some visual interest with floral design.

During our play test we really found the double shoulder straps beneficial. With extra support from the integrated bra, this really is a performance garment of the highest order.

The Verdict: Best tennis outfits

The Under Armour gear was our favourite mens outfit in the test, it is really well made and has a loose comfortable fit.

For the ladies, whilst we all love a bargain and the Artengo Soft 500 Dress is exceptional value for money, the New Balance Tournament Dress is our favourite ladies outfit. It ticks all the boxes and is very comfortable.
