10 best organic babygrows
Super-soft, chemical free, better for the environment and comfortable for sensitive skin. Buying organic for baby is a no brainer

Organic baby clothes can, at first glance, be more expensive to buy than non. But there are exceptions – the high street is unveiling more and more organic, sustainable collections as awareness on the subject grows and there are some brilliant, affordable options available, see H&M’s organic offerings from under £5 for example.
The main reasons to buy organic – be it cotton or bamboo – are the softness. Some are so silky they could be made of cashmere. No nasties, they’re chemical free and natural, so better for the environment. And because of all of the above they’re much more delicate on sensitive, new baby skin. Therefore less likely to cause any reactions or allergies. They also tend to wash well so many of our testers suggested the idea of buying less organic and washing them more, as opposed to bulk buying many non-organic.
Contrary to popular opinion there are a lot of organic babygrows available now so as with all our Indy Best product reviews, this isn’t just a list of what’s available, it’s a list of the very best. In terms of price, quality, style and softness. These are our favourites available to buy now.
Conscious collection light grey marl suit, £4.99, H&M
When it comes to value for money for sustainable kid’s fashion and organic, beautifully soft basics you can’t beat H&M’s Conscious collection. The muted colourways in marl grey, white, blues, soft pinks and mustards and neutrals is the perfect basis for an organic baby wardrobe on a budget regardless of gender. Available in sizes 0-4yrs.
Fine grey and natural striped bamboo baby grow, £20, Panda and the Sparrow
One of, if not the softest babygrow we’ve ever touched. This one will feel silky against delicate baby skin. Made from organic bamboo it’s known for being as soft as cashmere as well as hypoallergenic, thermos regulating, breathable and UV resistant making it an ideal choice for summer. It also comes in bright red, green and blue stripes. Available in sizes 0-18mths.
Morris Star pink sleepsuit, £24, Sleepy Doe
The thing about a lot of organic babywear is it tends to be white, cream or grey. Which is lovely. But quite limiting. Which is why Sleepy Doe is a breath of fresh air. The 100% organic sleepsuits come in a range of perfect prints which are pretty but simple. Not too busy. Star, sunshine prints or a classic Breton stripe. All made in the UK. These sleepsuits have quite a slim fit so buy up a size to allow for a little washing shrinkage. Available in sizes 0-12mths.
Zip-up sleepsuit, £32.50, Mori
Mori products are more of a luxury buy but they are of the most fantastic quality and make lovely gifts arriving in their signature boxes. The sleepsuits are made from bamboo and organic cotton, soft and safe for the most sensitive skin and breathable so another good option for any weather. They have integral scratch mitts (in sizes up to 6 months) and the zip-up style is genius, saving time on fiddly poppers – especially handy for quick night time nappy changes. Available in sizes 0-2yrs and a range of neutral colour and simple print options.
Blue sleepsuit with star print, £14, Newbie
The Swedish lifestyle brand is still relatively new to the UK but it’s fast becoming a favourite with new stores popping up all the time (and the full collections available online). The timeless baby and kids styles with a cool Scandi edge are available in ages 0-8 years and the muted, natural, pretty colour palette has a luxury vibe but with very affordable prices; it’s a bit of a gem at the moment. All of the cotton Newbie use is 100% organic. This unisex sleepsuit is a favourite. Available in sizes 0-18mths.
London sleepsuit, £24, Boden
Boden’s organically-grown cotton sleepsuit is beautifully soft and we love the regal, nostalgic smocking style not often found in organic babywear. A good choice for a baby shower or new baby gift it’s of great quality (as Boden is known for) and comes with integral scratch mitts up to age 3 months. Available in sizes 0-12mths.
Dots suit with contrast feet, £32, Organic Zoo
One of the more expensive sleepsuits we’ve come across but also one of the cutest in terms of style which is why it has been included. Obviously, it’s 100% organic cotton. And we love the fact that it’s completely gender neutral. Organic Zoo is a sustainable company and the packaging is minimal – so don’t expect fancy glossy boxes. But the clothes are long-lasting, wash well and have a cute, fun element about them that we adore. Available in sizes 0-12mths.
First Kisses babygrow, £21.90, From Babies with Love
A unique company partnered with the From Babies with Love Foundation from which all of the profits go around the world to help abandoned children which is reason enough to buy. But that aside, the products are pretty great, too. All made from a luxurious soft certified organic cotton in neutral shades and prints which feel soft to touch. Each piece arrives in a little cotton drawstring bag. Available in sizes 3-12mths.
Light as a cloud waterfall babygrow, £20 Little Green Radicals
Little Green Radicals were one of the first companies to use Fairtrade certified organic cotton to make baby and kids clothing. So, they really know what they’re doing. They sell classic natural white babygrows and basics but we love the fun, bright unisex prints that are harder to find in the organic market. Available in sizes 0-18 mths.
Ivory organic footed one-piece, £16.95, Gap
This lovely ribbed sleepsuit feels like much more of a luxury buy than the picture and the price tag suggest. It’s a thicker cotton yet still breathable and the classic style and colour have a timeless, gender-neutral appeal. It also has the integral mitts to protect little faces from fingernail scratches, a must for any new baby. Available in size 0-12mths.
Verdict: Organic babygrows
When it comes to affordability H&M is the one to buy to fit in with any budget. For a luxury gift we love Mori’s zip-up styles and for somewhere in the middle Sleepy Doe’s fun styles are light, bright and modern.
