Vanderohe Enhancing Body Serum: £108 for 100ml, Vanderohe
Eye-wateringly expensive for essentially a body oil, but as soon as IndyBest broke the seal and tested the Vanderohe Serum, we acknowledged it was worth every single last penny. Their ethos is to create a “sophisticated blend of the world’s highest-grade, organic, cold-pressed oils, enriched with 100 per cent pure, organic, steam-distilled essential oils to enhance your skin and mind.” That clearly doesn’t come cheap. And obviously means no nasty pesticides or synthetic chemicals either.
This oil is so luxuriously sumptuous it seemed criminal to be using it all over winter legs wrapped under tights and trousers for the next 4 or 5 months, so we used it on arms and décolleté instead. The scent has a zesty hint of lime and neroli essential oils, with a warming calming base of lavender and vetiver, which delivers benefits both topically and aromatherapeutically. And leaves the skin soft, nourished and almost glistening with health. 10% of the profits go to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust and they offset their carbon footprint with a tree-planting donation to a private nature reserve in the UK.
Charlotte Tilbury Stars in Your Eyes Palette: £60, Charlotte Tilbury
One of the world’s best makeup artists, Charlotte Tilbury takes all the leg work out of eyeshadow palettes. She works hard to deliver carefully selected shade combinations that blend beautifully together, so you can apply the colours without thinking.
This palette of 12 is split into four looks, each one with a trio of shades. One to prime the lid, one to enhance the look and the third gives a smoky option. From mattes and shimmers to sparkles and metallics including rose gold, pink copper, antique rose, bronze, plum and ruby, this palette will take you through the entire party season.
Votary Darlings: £105, Votary
A travel-ready collection of Votary’s cult classic key skincare products in one handy set. Plus a cotton drawstring bag for travel and soft cotton face cloth. All the oils are still hand blended by makeup artist and founder Arabella Preston, and she uses a mix of flower, seed, vegetable and fruit oils for maximum soothing, anti-ageing skin nutrition.
Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop Deluxe Candle: £126, Jo Malone
As a pioneer of the oversized three wick candle, this may be one of the loveliest to date. This limited-edition scent for winter blends floral snowdrops, fresh green forest moss and warming amber and cardamom. Rich, sparkling and perfect for luxurious, cosy, dark nights in.
Seed to Skin The Bath Nectar, 1000 Tuscan Flowers: £88 for 100ml, Liberty
Founded in Tuscany and still produced and bottled at Borgo Santo Pietro, a restored 13th century villa now a 5-star boutique retreat, farm and culinary school, Seed to Skin use beautiful dark green glass bottles to preserve their natural oils for longer.
And these oils are well worth preserving – Bath Nectar is a sumptuous blend of jasmine, neroli and damask oil. Pour just a few drops under running water, and we found the bathroom was filled with the most incredible heady floral scent, conjuring up images of the evening Tuscan landscape. A stunning present for bath lovers.
Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Magic Skin: £55, Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte Tilbury first created her Magic Cream to use before making up the faces of her A-list clients including Kate Moss, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz. Magic Night Cream and Magic Eye Rescue followed and the skincare powerhouse trio was formed. We found the Magic Eye Rescue significantly reduced the look of dark circles and fine lines around the eye area. This set contains 15ml travel sizes of the Magic Cream and Magic Night Cream, and a full-size 15ml pot of the Eye Rescue.
