Jennifer Aniston reignites the possibility of a Friends reunion

Jennifer Aniston has admitted that she didn’t mean to get everyone’s hopes up after hinting at a Friends reunion.

While on the red carpet promoting her new film Murder Mystery, the actor explained to Entertainment Tonight that her comments (which she made during a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres) were part of a personal experiment and nothing more at this point.

“Well, ‘no’ was getting me nowhere, and ‘maybe’ was getting me nowhere,” she explained. “So I thought I’d try ‘yes.’ See what would happen. Sorry!”

That being said, she wants fans to “stay excited” about the possibility of something happening.

When asked again whether herself and her Friends co-stars would possibly be up for a reunion, she replied: ”Anything could happen.”

“I have no idea though,” she quickly added. “There’s no plans in the immediate future.”

When the topic of a Friends revamp was broached by DeGeneres earlier this week, Aniston fuelled speculation by refusing to shut down the suggestion.

“Listen, I would do it,” she said. “The girls would do it. And the boys would do it. Anything could happen.”

DeGeneres then went on to joke that, even if some of the others were unable to come back, Aniston would be able to bring back the show without them – even on her own.

“Who needs the others?” Aniston joked. “They just take me down!”
