James Corden spotted being towed in Carpool Karaoke segment

James Corden fans were shocked after a video showed the Late Late Show host being towed in his Range Rover by a truck, as he filmed a Carpool Karaoke segment.

Carpool Karaoke typically features Corden with an artist or a band, as they drive around LA and sing the artist’s biggest hits together.

However, in a video uploaded to Twitter, Corden is shown alongside Justin Bieber in the car, which is being towed by a truck.

“Saw James Corden and Justin Bieber filming carpool karaoke and this is why I have trust issues – he isn’t even driving!” Twitter user Zoli Honig wrote.

The short clip had been viewed over 11 million times at the time of writing, while the tweet itself had received more than 400,000 likes.

Some fans expressed their upset that Corden had “deceived” his viewers, while others were relieved to discover the filming process put safety first.

“All along I used to respect James Corden for being able to concentrate on driving and singing at the same time,” one wrote.

“But now I feel betrayed. So even the Amigos, Mariah Carey, Michelle Obama and the rest was just a lie.”

“Who thought James drove that car the entire time he is talking and singing?” another said.

“I have seen James' eyes on the road 30 per cent of the times that he is driving. I wondered how he didn’t crash. I actually feel better now.”

A spokesperson for The Late Late Show told Page Six: “James always drives during Carpool Karaoke.

“However, on the rare occasion when there is a stunt component and the producers feel it is unsafe to drive, we will use a rig.”

Justin Bieber is preparing to release a new album following the release of his single “Yummy” earlier this month.
