Game of Thrones season 8: Euron Greyjoy actor teases character's death: 'A lot of people are gonna lose money'
The actor revealed that Euron still has a lot of 'cool s**t' to do before the show ends
On Game of Thrones, the heroes don’t always win.
That’s something Euron Greyjoy actor Pilou Asbæk wants everyone to remember as the eighth season marches on.
Although the character debuted during season six, viewers only saw how truly psychotic Euron could be during season seven, when his fleet decimated Daenerys’s ships.
With season eight now in full swing, many fans believe the pantomime-like villain to soon die – likely with Theon or Yara exacting revenge (though Queen Cersei could snap sooner).
“My agent sent me a text that said the most likely character to die first is me,” Asbæk told Entertainment Weekly. “So a lot of people are gonna lose money… I do some cool s**t.”
As we now know, Euron was not the first character with a speaking role to die in season eight: that honour

Asbæk also teased the characters relationship with Theon and Yara going forward, saying: “There are a lot of people who think there’s a conflict. But honestly? I don’t think Euron gives a s**t.
“For Euron his main focus is power and Theon doesn’t have any. Yara and Theon are nothing to him. They’re not a concern.”
Game of Thrones continues on Sunday night. Euron does not feature in any of the promotional material for the forthcoming episode – either the trailer or pre-release photographs – though that does not mean the character does not make an appearance.
The final season of Game of Thrones is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. Read The Independent’s review of the premiere episode here.
