Official Documentary Trailer: Game of Thrones: The Last Watch

A new Game of Thrones documentary will air after the series finale of the show, with a new trailer teasing an emotional look behind the scenes.

The trailer opens on the show’s final table read, with Kit Harington visibly in tears, as co-creator DB Weiss says: “This is strange. Here we are at the last table read. It’s like looking around and seeing your family.”

It then shows some of the monumental work that went into the final six episodes, with each having “as much in it as one feature film”, according to one crew member.

There’s also a glimpse of Emilia Clarke’s final scene playing Daenerys Targaryen, whose character caused quite a few problems in last week’s episode.

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch will be feature length, clocking in at two hours, and will air on 26 May, a week after the final episode.

Directed by Jeanie Finlay, it will deal with the making of the final season, drawing on Finlay’s experiences while being on the set for a year.

According to HBO, the documentary “delves deep into the mud and blood to reveal the tears and triumphs involved in the challenge of bringing the fantasy world of Westeros to life in the very real studios, fields and car-parks of Northern Ireland”.

The final season of Game of Thrones continues every Sunday. The show is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
