Jerome Flynn, who portrayed Bronn on Game of Thrones, has denied long-standing rumours of a feud with his former costar Lena Headey, after newspaper reports that claimed the pair refused to share scenes on the series.

During an appearance at Nashville’s Con of Thrones convention this weekend, Flynn was asked about the rumours by a fan who was promptly booed by fellow convention-goers. In response, Flynn claimed that he and Headey did in fact appear alongside one another on the series.

“We were actually in the same scene together,” he said. “And the last time I saw Lena we were speaking, so I wouldn’t believe everything you read and... [the media] can get pretty desperate for stories.”

He added, “Lena’s a wonderful person and a wonderful actress.”

In 2014, the Daily Telegraph claimed that the pair had such a deep-seated dislike for one another that they refused to work together. “Jerome and Lena aren’t on speaking terms any more and they are never in the same room at the same time,” the source, described as a crew-member, alleged.

Flynn and Headey were reportedly once in a relationship in the early 2000s, having met on the set of Flynn’s star-making series Soldier Soldier in 1993.
