Listen: 911 calls from night of Jussie Smollett’s 'hoax attack' are released

The camera crew for Fox drama Empire has been seen filming just one block from where former series star Jussie Smollett claimed he was attacked.

Smollett alleged he was beaten in a racial and homophobic attack in an overpass in Chicago in January, although police later concluded that the incident was staged and the actor has since been axed from the show.

On Tuesday, NBC 5 Chicago obtained photographs of production trucks and set security near the corner of McClurg and North Water Street, on the “same intersection” as the location where Smollett claimed the attack took place.

Fox entertainment boss Charlie Collier previously said there is “no plan for Jussie to return” for Empire’s forthcoming sixth and final season.

Empire season six will premiere in the UK later this year.
