RuPaul calls for performers to audition for UK version of Drag Race TV series

Alan Carr and Graham Norton will appear as judges in the UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

BBC Three confirmed on Thursday that the two TV personalities will act as rotating resident judges, joining RuPaul, Michelle Visage and a celebrity guest judge each week.

Carr has previously interviewed RuPaul on his show Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, while Norton appeared as a guest judge on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars in the US, back in 2016.

Norton and Carr will both be present on the judging panel for the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

“Becoming part of the Drag Race family makes me ridiculously happy!” Norton said in a statement. “I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk!!!”

Carr said: “Wow! To be sat next to Michelle Visage and Mama Ru as a guest judge on possibly one of my all-time favourite shows EVER is a dream come tru

“I can’t wait to see what the UK Queens have got in store – it’s going to be sickening! *does death drop*”

The US version of RuPaul’s Drag Race has proven to be a global success, picking up nine Emmy Awards along the way.
