Danny Boyle is the latest name to be added to that list with the British filmmaker signed up to produce Trust, a limited series for US network FX about the heir of Getty oil.
Variety reports that the first instalment of the ten-part series will take place in 1973 when John Paul Getty III is kidnapped by the Mafia in Rome who hold him for a multi-million dollar ransom.
This project will see Boyle reunite with producer Simon Beaufoy following their work on 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire.
FX is the channel behind popular television show Fargo as well as Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story and American Crime Story - the first run of which, subtitled The People v OJ Simpson, is currently receiving strong acclaim.
